The Second Station
Jesus Takes up His Cross

We adore thee, O Christ, and we praise thee.
Because by thy holy Cross, thou hast redeemed the world.

Reading
When the soldiers had mocked him, they took off from him the
purple cloak, and put his own garments on him.
And they led him out to crucify him. - Mark 15. 20

Meditation
You were led to Calvary, Lord, carrying Your own the Cross. Yet that Cross was not Yours alone.
It was also ours! By Your Holy Cross, Lord Jesus, make us strong enough
to be able to take up the cross that we must bear.

Lord, have mercy. Christ, have mercy. Lord, have mercy.
